Is it better for a traveler to fast or to break the fast during Ramadan?

Praise be to Allah. Both fasting and not fasting are permitted for the traveler, as Allah says: 'But whoever among you is ill or on a journey, then an equal number of other days.' The preference depends on what is easier for the traveler. If fasting causes hardship, breaking the fast is preferable; if it is easy, fasting is preferable so as not to delay the obligation.
